the delhi book fair, despite its shortcomings, is an island of relief on the vast skeletal pragati maidan campus, or perhaps the national capital itself. for some reasons media reports have not been kind to the event. but that's subjective. this underrated "down market" book fair, however, is the last stand in this city in these times when talks about the-end-of-the-novel-as-we-know-it are becoming a style statement.
